Baan Rim Nam
- Directions
Finding the house isn't rocket science but
it is quite along walk from the main road. If you book in advance and we
know you are coming, we can make arrangements to pick you up from the main road
or ferry pier. (Bear in mind we only have a pick-up so picking up a
family of six with luggage means that some of you will be riding in the back.)
Location
If you look at a map of Koh Chang you'll
see a small peninsula half way down the west coast. The nearest resorts
are KP Huts, Tiger Huts, Thale Bungalows and the Panviman Resort. They should all be
marked on your map.

Follow the signs for KP
Huts |
Coming out of the ferry terminal, turn
right and it's a 20 minute drive to the track which leads to our house, KP Huts,
Tiger Huts, Panviman & Thale.
You know you're getting near when you go
past the Ramayana Resort on the right, then the turning on the left
signposted to Klong Plu waterfall. Over a river and past a large area of
cleared land on the right which has what looks like a small airstrip being built
on it, go round the sharp right hand turn, on for 200 metres and you'll see a large sign for the Panviman Resort and 'Sabaiporn'
restaurant and a roadside plant shop on the left.
On the right you'll see a dirt track. Turn off here.
If you go past a temple on your right and a
bakery called 'Crust' on your left - then you've gone to far and need to U-turn.
(Anyone coming from the south, i.e. Kai
Bae / Bangbao etc should look out for Klong Prao temple roadside. This is
100 metres before the KP Huts turnoff. )

Head down here. |
Head past KP Huts and towards the Panviman Resort -
you'll be heading down a long dirt track. In the photo the red tile
roofs of the Panviman hotel are just visible on the left of the photo.

|
You've finally arrived. |
Go about 50 metres past the entrance to the Panviman.
You'll see a concrete wall has been built through the coconut trees down to
the beach. Head past the wall, and immediately turn right and park.
You'll see a sign for 'Baan Rim Nam' by a wooden footbridge
leading through the mangroves, follow this for about 50 metres and you'll be at the
house. (The bridge is lit at night - so it's easy to see if you're arriving
after sunset)
