Boat photos
I'll add more when the boats are
completed. This gallery shows a few photos of the speedboat being built plus some
other pics from the Pailan Yacht boatyard.
If you're looking for a custom built
speedboat to use around Koh Chang then it's worth
emailing me and I'll put you in touch with Pailan Yacht, the official
boat builders of iamkohchang.com; and, more impressively, also suppliers to
numerous resorts, yachties, government agencies and dive operators around
the Trang & Krabi area.
A fibreglass longtail boat. Pailan Yacht have built loads of these for the harbour & marine departments down in Trang. Functional rather than beautiful. This is a very cute little two seater runabout. Small, agile and just needs a 50HP motor. It was built for fun and is suitable for someone who just enjoys messing around in boats. It's for sale with a reconditioned outboard for around 175,000 baht The boss of a national park down in the south of Thailand wanted a small old school boat to take his wife nd kids out on the weekend. Body work finished, teak wood deck & seats. Stick a small outboard on it and it's a nice little boat to take people out to see the sunset etc. (If you'd like one it'll set you back around 200,000 baht including a secod hand motor.) Not only small boats. This dive boat from Ao Nang near Krabi, was built to the owners specifications. Another small speedboat - can seat half a dozen people and gets you from A to B quickly enough . . providing the water isn't too choppy. The customer is always right . . . not when the customer insists that, despite any previous experience, they'd tow their refurbished boat from the factory to their house. The boat got off lightly, the brand new pick-up truck towing it ended up on it's roof. The mock up of our boat. I'm not exactly sure of the dimensions other than it's big enough to take ten passengers, and also small enough to look sleek in the water. Rear view. First timeI saw it I thought it had a bit of a Porshce 911 look about the rear end. Profile of the boat, all that's missing is the spoiler. That will be added after extensive deliberations as to whether a front or rear facing spolier would be most suitable. (It'll probably come down to a coin toss.) Obviously, still a bit of work to do on the interior. The fittings have already been bought from marine shops in Langkawi, Malaysia - cheaper than shops in Thailand & also very easy to get to from Trang.
