The original Photo Galleries can be found
here. But as I now have a
slightly faster internet connection I can upload larger photos files so I'll add
some more pages with newer photos here.

White Sand Beach - Northern Part (Oct 2006)
Still a hippie haven in places
White
Sand Beach
- Southern Part (Oct 2006) Package tour heaven
White
Sand Beach
- Roadside (Oct 2006) A mess of souvenir shops and concrete
East Coast
of Koh Chang by
Sea (Oct 2006) Nothing but trees for mile after mile
Koh Mak Views (Oct 2006)
Worth a few days of your time if you want a family friendly island.
Day on the boat (Nov 2006) How do you like your day-trips? Overcrowded tour boat, or a private
speedboat. You decide.
Three Popular Resorts (Dec 2006) Paradise Resort, Koh Chang Resort &
Klong Prao Resort all lie adjacent at the north end of Klong Prao beach.
Which would you choose?
2007
Koh Wai
- (Jan 2007) A few photos of this island lying south of Koh Chang which is a
popular stop for tour boat operators and also has a handful of cheap
bungalows if you want budget seclusion.
Lonely Beach - (Jan 2007) The area made popular by backpackers and
now moving more upmarket. Why should the 200 baht/night hut dwellers have the best
beaches?
Welu
Wetlands - (May 2007) Something for the more adventurous visitor.
You'll need to get onto the mainland and then drive about 30 minutes to find
this peaceful mangrove forest which has a pretty nice walking trail.
Koh Mak,
the east of the island (May 2007) - Koh Mak is a much better island to
explore by mountain bike than Koh Chang. It's small enough so that you
can't get lost but large enough so that you can get off the beaten track and
follow narrow tracks through the jungle and rubber plantations.
Koh
Mak, southwest beach (May 2007) - Most visitors to Koh Mak will stay on
the southwest beach known as 'Ao Sai Khao'
The
Dewa, Koh Chang (Aug 2007) - Pre-opening photos of the island's newest
and most originally designed resort.
Baby Elephants (Aug 2007) -
Three baby elephants were born this month at Baan Chang Thai elephant camp
on Koh Chang.
Sangkhlaburi (Sept 2007) - Nothing at all to do with Koh Chang, but a
nice place to visit if you're a nature lover who wants to get well away from
tourists for a few quiet days.
Kai
Bae, Lonely Beach and Bangbao (Nov 2007) - Some photos highlighting the
wealth of exciting shopping opportunities that visitors to Koh Chang are
afforded.
Salakphet Mangrove Walkway (Dec 2007) - It's a bitch to find, as
signposting isn't a strong point of the Koh Chang authorities - but well
worth the effort. Very scenic little walk in the south east of Koh
Chang.
Koh Ngam & Koh Mai See Yai by kayak
(Dec 2007) - No people, nice beach, sea gypsy village, bat cave and plenty
of paddling. A nice 16km paddle off the south eastern tip of Koh Chang

More
Koh Mak (Jan 2008)- How busy it the island in high season? Are the
beaches packed? Find out here.
Kayaking around Salakphet Bay (Jan 2008) - This is the largest bay on
the island, you can drive along both sides, but to get the real picture you
need to see it from the water.
Sailing
from Koh Chang - Koh Wai (Feb 2008) - Another great day spent on a
yacht, thanks to Bill & Keith, a couple of regular visitors to Koh Chang who
enjoy sailing in the archipelago.
Around Korat
(Mar 2008) - A few of the ruins that we saw when my parents came to visit
plus some nature in Khao Yai National Park.
Silk making
near Khon Kaen (Mar 2008) - On the way up to KK we stopped off at Ban Pa Ngat, a
village where the local women still weave in the traditional way. Also
went to Chonnabot a small town 50km south of KK that is famous for the
quality of it's mudmee silk.
Sukhothai
(Mar 2008) - Not a patch on Angkor Wat, but the largest of the old Thai
cities. if it's too manicured for you, try Si Satchanalai about 45
minutes drive north. Smaller and far fewer tour groups.
Kanchanaburi
(Mar 2008) - Only two hours drive from Bangkok. A good base if you want a a
short break with some modern history, nature and laid back place to stay.
White Sand
Beach (Apr 2008) - An updated look at Koh Chang's busiest beach. |
