- Rainy Season on Koh Chang
The photos in this section were taken in
June 2005 at the start of the rainy season. Although this time of year isn't
ideal for sun worshipping, it is the best time of year to visit the island if
you're a photographer. The sky is far clearer during the rainy season as
there is none of the haze that causes all panoramic high season photos to appear
unclear and make taking photos of offshore islands an impossibility.

Amateur weather forecasting, Lesson 1.
If you catch the ferry and are greeted by a view similar to this . . . you know it's raining on Koh Chang. View towards the inland, taken from the south east of the island overlooking Salakphet Bay. It's not hard to get away from fellow visitors at this time of year. Low tide, taken from the shoreline in Salakphet village A look along the coast line, easy to see where soil has washed down the hillside into the sea. Plenty of room for a game of beach football in low season. Zooming in on Koh Wai in the foreground, behind you can see Koh mak and in the far distance - around 40 km south of Koh Chang the faint outline of Koh Kood is visible. After a storm, you can't get much closer to staying on the beach than this. Our dog again with a couple of his beach dog buddies. Between downpours grabbing a sun longer is easy. Young 'Anfield' is the model. In case you're wondering about the name . . . her parents are both big Liverpool FC fans.
