- Wai Chek Beach
Until recently Wai Chek beach was only
accessible via long walk along paths that required local knowledge to navigate
or by sea. However, if you follow the unfinished Salakphet to Bangbao road
you can get there on your own easily.

Starting from Salakphet, the road climbs look behind you and you'll have this view. The road is a rollecoaster, lots of tight bends. But wide enough in most places to pass any oncoming traffic. The road is intended for motorikes and bicycles only and has a couple of rest stops. Thoughtfully, even bike racks are provided. After a couple of kilometres you'll reach an unsignposted turning on the left, this is the view looking down the track - follow the track. The track heads through a runner plantation onto a grassy plain. Keepg going another 400 metres. The track goes past the rear of this house in the cocnut tres behind the beach. Koh Klum is easily visible from the beach At the north end of the beach is a rocky headland. No bungalows at all here. Looking south along he beach, it'snot a bad spot to avoid the crowds. No developmentof any kind, nowhere to even buy a drink,. Back on the unfinished road, you cn head another kilometre or so by pick-up, until the road narrows due to a landslide
