White Sand Beach
The southern end of White Sand is best
summed up by the phrase 'You'll be disappointed' There's no beach, a few beer
bars, and, as the road winds up the hill and a way from the beach, accommodation
consists of a variety of average and less than average resorts that have sprung
up to cater for the high season overspill.

A minute's stroll from Cookie is Sabuy Bar, granddaddy of
White Sand Beach bars. Apparently size is important when it comes to signage. Opposite Kacha Resort the hotel owners have built new shop units for rent in the 'no-mans land' that lies roadside between north and south
White Sand Beach . More chance of seeing Elvis than a tourist with their wallet out. Kacha Resort looks a nice place to stay if you've got a credit card handy. 'Tour rist Information' is hardly a never before seen phrase. If they f%&ked that up just think what they're capable of doing when it comes to confirming your flight booking. If you're in need of a Thai feed, or have a significant other who requires a regular chili intake then head here. Cheap prices, it's where the Thais who stay at your resort will eat. Surprisingly there are a couple of resort owners on
White Sand Beach with good taste in architecture. Baan Thai Resort is one such place. View from outside the 7-11 at the south end of
White Sand Beach looking north. Big, old bikes, Pattaya cast offs, are available to hire at 'Suay' bar near the southern 7-11. (You can rent 400cc+ motorbikes too.) These bungalows were relocated from the site of the new Kacha resort to their new home on the hill out of
White Sand Beach. Exactly why is anyone's guess. You can tell I'm struggling for photo worthy material when the Post Office, on the right going up the hill out of south
White Sand Beach, is in the gallery. Close your eyes . . . picture 'The Cabin Resort'. Did you imagine Grizzly Adams type logs houses? Or did you imagine shipping containers covnverted into rooms. If so, you must be the owner of this resort. (On the plus side they have aircon.) Para Resort & Seafood on the left heading out of
White Sand Beach. Note the 'No MSG' sign. The Thai script above translates as 'Ignore the English below, it's great for getting a few extra punters in on weeknights.'
